Ⅰ 、Product Description

β-carotene (C40H56) is one of the carotenoids, an orange-yellow fat-soluble compound, which is the most ubiquitous and stable natural pigment in nature. Belongs to the family of natural chemicals such as carotenes or carotenoids. It is found in abundance in plants, giving fruits and vegetables their rich yellows and oranges. The appearance of pure product is red-purple to dark red crystalline powder with a slight peculiar odor.  The dilute solution of β-carotene is orange-yellow, easily soluble in organic solvents such as dichloromethane, chloroform, and carbon disulfide.  When the concentration of the solution increases, it will be orange, and may be slightly reddish due to the polarity of the solvent. It is unstable in the presence of oxygen, heat and light. It is more stable in weak bases.

Ⅰ What does β-carotene do?

In the body, beta-carotene converts into vitamin A (retinol). We need vitamin A for good vision and eye health, for a strong immune system, and for healthy skin and mucous membranes. Taking big doses of vitamin A can be toxic, but your body only converts as much vitamin A from beta-carotene as it needs.

Ⅱ Is Beta Carotene the same as vitamin A?

Beta-carotene (β-carotene) is a precursor to vitamin A, an essential vitamin at any age, including for cellular health and vision. It is also a powerful antioxidant that may reduce the risk of cancer. Beta-carotene is a precursor to vitamin A. It turns into vitamin A according to the body’s needs.

Ⅲ  What is beta carotene good for skin?

Skin Protection   Research has shown that antioxidants, including beta carotene, can help maintain skin health and appearance, and may protect the skin against UV radiation from the sun.

Ⅳ  What is beta carotene in blood?

Beta carotene is a fat-soluble nutrient found in certain foods. It breaks down to become Vitamin A in your body. Not consuming enough beta-carotene may lead to a vitamin A deficiency. Too much vitamin A can lead to loss of appetite, nausea and diarrhea, headaches, skin changes, and potential birth defects.

We need vitamin A for good vision and eye health, for a strong immune system, and for healthy skin and mucous membranes. Taking big doses of vitamin A can be toxic, but your body only converts as much vitamin A from beta-carotene as it needs. That means beta-carotene is considered a safe source of vitamin A.

The human body converts beta carotene into vitamin A (retinol) – beta carotene is a precursor of vitamin A. We need vitamin A for healthy skin and mucus membranes, our immune system, and good eye health and vision. Vitamin A can be sourced from the food we eat, through beta carotene, for example, or in supplement form.

Ⅶ   Does beta-carotene lighten skin?

You can also find beta-carotene in other foods, like pumpkin, sweet potato, and—confusingly—spinach, but it’s most abundant in carrot juice. If you consume enough beta-carotene it turns you a very unpleasant shade of yellow-orange. But if you eat just the right amount, it simply tints your skin a bit.
